Homespun check, homespun plaid, or solid linen. The brim is stiffened with period correct buckram. it can be worn folded back or unfolded to shield the face from the sun. Jan is shown in our navy/tan check with the brim both folded and unfolded, as part of her 1850's working class outfit. The sunbonnet is appropriate for rural American women from early 19th century through the Civil War and even later. 13" x 17" with 8" long curtain. Many colors available. Shown in medium checked navy/tan, and in small checked burgundy/sage/navy. State color preference.
