Polished solid brass buckle measures 3" x 1 7/8" on the outside, the inside measurement is 2 1/8". The buckle can be used for a belt or shoulder cartridge box strap. A tongue is installed on the middle bar. Originals like this have been found at Crown Point, NY and Michilimackinac, MI. These are period-correct buckles; the tongues are steel.
