All garments are available in your choice of silk, linen, cotton, wool, cotton velvet, and brocade. "Lottery" Coat 1778 French Contract
1777-1778 French Contract Uniform coat of the Continental Army. Worn by the 8th Pa, Ft. Laurens Det, B.A.R and originally the Pennsylvania Line, New York Line, New Hampshire drew brown, New Jersey Line, North Carolina Line, Maryland Line, Delaware Regiment and the Virginia Line. Enlisted man's coat has faux side pleat. Officer's coat has working side pleats. Both have working pockets. Pewter turret shank buttons. May be lined entirely in 13oz wool, or choose linen for the the top half of the lining and 13 oz wool for the bottom half. You may also provide your own lining and receive a $45 credit. Our coat is raw edged and machine top stitched. You may hand sew a running stitch on top of machine stitching to achieve a hand sewn look. Researched by Henry Cooke and Jim Kochan. The Indigo and Scarlet wool are an exact match to the BAR specified colors, though it may not appear so in these images.

The second example shown was worn by Colonel Peter Gansevoort of the 3rd New York Regiment and is on display at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.

"Lottery" Coat Brown and Scarlet
Revolutionary War regimental coat is the brown version of the blue lottery coat described above. The example shown was worn by the Connecticut 6th regiment, and others, is brown medium weight wool. The facings, turnbacks and cuffs are made with 21oz red wool and the lining is 21oz natural wool to make the coat more substantial and it give more "body". Working pockets. Coat is top stitch and raw edged. Includes turret shank buttons. May be made with or without hearts on turnbacks.

  24th Connecticut Militia
13 oz Peat Brown 100% wool, regimental style coat with 21oz red wool facings, turnbacks, cuffs, and collar. Flat pewter buttons. The sleeves are linen wih 100% unbleach linen for your comfort. Vertical sided, non-slanted pocket flaps for four buttons (two working, two dropped). Open side vents. No epaulettes. Three hook and eye front closure in addition to the working lapels. 60th Regiment of Foot (Royal American Regiment) Officer's Coat
French and Indian War British Officer's uniform coat includes 38 German Silver buttons and approximately 18 yards of bias and stand silver lace. 21 oz scarlet wool shell and 13 oz dark navy facings and half lining. 60th Royal American Enlisted Man's Coat
This French and Indian War British uniform coat is constructed with a heavy weight madder red wool shell and medium weight navy wool lining, cuffs and facings. Includes 60th pewter buttons, working pockets, vertical flap on sleeve, one epaulette, and hooks and eyes for turnbacks. Documented shorter "cropped" enlisted man's coat worn by the light infantry and others. Approximately 33" long unless otherwise specified. Longer lengths $20 additional. Artillery British Royal Rev War
This British Royal Artillery uniform coat is made of 21oz Navy blue wool with scarlet cuffs, cape and facings. The bottom half is lined with 13oz natural white wool, or scarlet for Burgoyne's army's cropped coat. Flat brass buttons. Yellow worsted wool lace trims button holes. Price includes 9 yards of 1/2" worsted wool tape applied, but actual yardage will be measured and the proper dollar amount will be either refunded or invoiced upon completion of the coat.

Artillery Coat French Royal
The Royal Artillery corps, commanded by the King, wore this blue 1740's uniform coat with madder red half lining and cuffs, six brass French Marine buttons on each pocket flap and three on each cuff. One epaulet on left shoulder. In 1753 a red collar was added. Morning sky blue. Cole Jones regally models his French Royal Artillery uniform.

Continental Army Staff Coat Rev War
This is the navy coat with straw facings worn by Major Generals, Aide de Camps, and others, including LaFayette. There are 10 flat brass buttons on each facing, four on each cuff, and 3 or 4 on each pocket flap. It is worn with a black neck stock or cravat, ruffled shirt, and the straw-colored waistcoat shown below. Made with 21 oz. navy blue wool and 13 oz straw wool body lining. Sleeves lined with linen. Two facings treatments shown. George Washington's uniform is shown with the squared facing and our reproduction of an Aide-de-camp coat shown with alternative facing treatment. Additionally, for a late war impression the facing can button over the collar.

Custom Uniform Coats
Uniform coats may be lined or unlined. Working pockets. Wool edges are left raw unless specified otherwise. Customer is required to provide full description, and illustration of coat if possible, including details of pocket flaps, sleeve and cuffs, collar, facings (lapels), turn backs, buttons and body measurements. Fall Front Trowsers for Hessian Jaegers
As related by Captain Johann Ewald in "Diary of the American War: A Hessian Journal," in December 1776 the Hessian Jaegers seized a large stock of American trowsers. The fabric is not documented, but was most likely linen. Choose any color of 7.1 oz linen or cotton twill. State color, waist size, height, and button choice.

French Marine Coat
Documented F & I French Marine coat includes brass French Marine style buttons. Wool edges are raw and topstitched. Working pockets. Gaiters F&I
White, black or natural cotton duck. The seams are reinforced for durability. Buttons are included but not attached. You attach the buttons for a perfect fit. The top four or five button holes button onto your breeches leg buttons. Button holes are spaced every 1 1/2". Choose brass, copper (limited availability), pewter, wood, bone, horn or leather buttons. Optional German Silver buttons available below.Shown in natural. If legs are different sizes the gaiters will be made to the specifications of the largest leg.

State approximate total finished back length from just above the top button on breeches leg opening to the bottom of your shoe, and thigh (measured just above the top button on breeches leg opening), calf and ankle measurements to the nearest inch, color and button choice.

Gaiters Rev War
Canvas half gaiters are appropriate for military in black or white, and appropriate for working men in shades of natural and brown. Includes 10 buttons that are not attached. Hat Blank
The highest quality hat blanks made from heavy, durable, fine, 100% wool felt. Pre-trimmed (cut) 4 1/4" brim and blocked with stiffening. Form your own cocked hat, tri-corn or bi-corn with hooks and eyes, laces, or by stitching the brim to the crown. Hessian Jaeger Uniform Coat
The coat shown is Hessian Jaeger in dark Ridge Green 21 oz wool with 13oz Scarlet wool turnbacks, half lining and cuffs, and domed brass buttons. The upper body of this uniform coat is lined in linen and the bottom half is red wool, and the wool shell is raw edged and top stitched. Button holes are golden yellow thread as were the originals. Optional Metallic Trim
Gold or silver metallic lace trim may be added to coats and waistcoats. Order one item per yard of trim needed. The cost of the trim is INCLUDED. Note approximately 12 yards are needed to loop the buttons holes on a typical regimental coat. Since trim yardage is approximated, we keep careful track of actual trim used and an invoice or refund will be issued after garment is completed.

  Optional Pre Wash and Dry
Linen and cotton lining fabric can be pre-washed and pre-shrunk if you desire. Remember that pre washing makes the garment look as if it is almost used, since slight wrinkling will remain even after ironing. Order one pre-wash for each color ordered.

Travel Wallet
Documented, heavy linen travel wallet is used as an over-the-shoulder haversack. Twist it, cast it over the shoulder and tie the ends on the other side of the body with the attached ties, as shown.
