Gentleman's Half Gaiters
Canvas half gaiters are appropriate for military in black or white, and appropriate for working men in shades of natural and brown. Includes 10 buttons that are not attached. Sew you own buttons on for a perfect fit. Choose brass, copper (limited availability), German silver, pewter, wood, bone, horn or leather buttons. If legs are different sizes the gaiters will be made to the specifications of the largest leg.

Choose white, black, or dyeable natural. State approximate ankle measurement to the nearest inch, button choice, and color.

Gentleman's Hunting Frock
Unlined 7.1 oz linen, pocketless. loose fitting, hunting frock coat with collar and two capes. Double fabric strips for fringe are applied and started. The customer finishes unraveling the cross threads to complete finging and is rewarded with a mound of tow. Good period-correct activity for camp!

Can be made with or without buttons for a wrap front and belt-tie closure. Shown in natural linen with antler buttons, before fringe is completely unraveled. Second example shows Daniel Boone (Steven Caudill) wearing his walnut-dyed hunting frock coat.

Gentleman's Neck Kerchief
The most informal sort of neckwear, the triangular neck kerchief made of silk, linen, or cotton is worn by sporting gentlemen, working tradesmen, and laboring slaves. Prints and solids are appropriate. Documented size is approximately 29" on the right angle sides, before hemming. Currently available in small natural-white ¼” check, large natural-white ¾” check, solid natural, white, black, rust, blue bonnet, chocolate, pumpkin, and loden green linen, and a variety of plain and printed cotton colors. Gentleman's Smock
Jane C. Nylander, at Old Sturbridge Village, describes this garment well. She writes, "A version of the shirt, worn especially by farmers, was the frock (or smock). Although cut like a large shirt, the frock was intended to be worn over other clothing and fell freely to the knees.... linen or cotton frocks were comfortable summer working garments"

Your fabric can be pre-washed and pre-shrunk if you desire. Remember that pre washing makes the garment look as if it is almost used, since slight wrinkling will remain even after ironing. Order one pre-wash for each color and type of fabric ordered.
