Waistcoat 1763-1778 Transitional Wool
The Quartermaster General exclusive. In 1763 the order was given to change to the more Prussian inspired uniforms that were eventually adopted by the British and colonials during the Revolutionary War. We call the waistcoat "transitional" because it is shorter and narrower than the typical French and Indian War waistcoat, but longer and slightly less cut away in the front than the British and colonial Revolutionary War waistcoat, thus it is a style that transitions between the F&I and Rev War shaped waistcoats. Includes linen lining and back. Optional silk lining available above. Available up to chest size 44.

Shown in red medium weight wool with domed pewter buttons (shirt sold separately). The second example is the natural wool waistcoat we designed for the main French character for the movie "The Battle of Justice," which is set in 1765.

Specify fabric, color, button choice, and chest measurement. We will provide a form requesting additional measurements and details. If tummy measurement is equal to or greater than chest measurement, be sure to order optional back laces, above.
