Seaman's Jacket
The precursor to the P coat. Appropriate for the last quarter of the 18th century. This is a double breasted jacket worn by farmers, laborers, apprentices, seafarers, sportsmen and pirates similar to that worn by the sailor in the 1786 Francis Wheatley painting owned by the National Maritime Museum. Vented, two or three button sleeve. Choose brass, copper or pewter buttons. Optional German Silver buttons may be purchased below. Choose 13oz weight wool lined with linen or unlined 21oz wool. Monmouth hat shown sold below.
